Hylton Castle
Explore the history on our doorstep by taking a trip to the newly refurbished Hylton Castle and learn about the haunting history that lies on the castle grounds.
Seaburn Beach
Have a walk along the seafront and enjoy the beautiful views and fresh seaside breeze. It’s also a great day out for your dog too!
Penshaw Monument
Take a trip up Penshaw Hill to view the historical Penshaw Monument and take in it’s breathtaking views of the City of Sunderland.
Herrington Country Park
There are many activities here for all the family from walking and cycling, to having a fun filled adventure on the play area.
Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens
Discover the history of Sunderland and learn about everything from Wallace the famous Lion, to shipbuilding and coal mining! You can also take a trip to the Tropical Winter Gardens where you can see tropical plants, enjoy the tree top walkway and bird's eye view of Mowbray Park.

February 22 - National Walking the Dog Day
Treat your dog to an extra-long walk this day in the fresh February air. Enjoy some quality time with your four-legged friend, playing a game of fetch or even going on a jog!
