Sheltered housing and extra care schemes

Sheltered housing and extra care schemes are secure, self-contained apartments designed for older people and people with care and support needs.

Who sheltered housing and extra care is for

Sheltered housing is available for anyone aged 60 and over and extra care is available for anyone over 55 who has an assessed care need. Extra care schemes provide on-site care 24 hours a day.

Applying for sheltered housing or extra care

We list all our available properties, including sheltered housing and extra care, on HomeHunt. It is free to use, and you must register and fill in an application form before you can rent a home with us.

For extra care, a panel decides who can rent a property.
