The Bowers, a Gentoo Homes development in Durham has received two accolades for its high specification and design.
The 19 townhouses and mews apartments development was firstly given an accolade for ‘Built environment’ from theCounty Durham Environment Partnership. The partnership noted that the development was an outstanding contribution to the built environment of the City, exceeding statutory requirements and the design, scale, massing and materials used complimented its surroundings.
Its second award came from the City of Durham Trust. This architectural award was given for the schemes considerate design which is in keeping with the area. The trust said: “The scheme is an exemplary piece of place-making. It is a welcome halt to rampant student advance in the area.”
