We have welcomed 14 new apprentices to the organisation, reinforcing its commitment to supporting customers and investing in the future workforce of Sunderland.
The new recruits have joined teams across the business, including trade, housing and estate services roles, providing valuable opportunities for local people to develop skills, gain qualifications and build rewarding careers.
Putting customers at the heart of everything it does, the majority of this year's apprentice intake are Gentoo customers, with additional recruits joining through the Gentoo Trades Academy – a partnership between the organisation, Sunderland College and Bishop Chadwick Catholic Trust.
The apprentices were selected following a competitive recruitment process and will receive structured training, hands-on experience and dedicated support throughout their apprenticeship journey.
Brooke Stokoe, who has recently started their apprenticeship in housing with Gentoo, said:
"I am really excited to start my career with Gentoo. Everyone has been welcoming and supportive, and I'm looking forward to learning new skills, gaining experience and developing my career."

The apprentices spent their first week at Gentoo meeting colleagues from across the organisation, learning about the business and gaining an insight into the vital role they will play in supporting customers and communities across Sunderland.
