During the recent months, we have held a selection of Information and Knowledge sessions.
20/2/19 Wellbeing Service
Attendees: 19 attendees
This was an excellent I&K session, delivered by the Wellbeing team. The staff talked about the support Gentoo can provide to enable customers to live independently in their homes, with the use of aids and adaptations. A presentation was given on sheltered schemes and extra care schemes. Everyone found this session enjoyable and informative.
Topic: Neighbourhood Management
An information and knowledge session was held with customers in April 2019. This was a well-attended session. Residents were given a range of information on how Gentoo manage neighbourhoods, the role of the Neighbourhood Coordinator, who is responsible for tackling and how we resolve some of the issues that Gentoo can be presented with on a regular basis. Issues such as drains, gardens, communal blocks, highways, trees, open spaces etc were all discussed. The session included information on how important it is that we work with other agencies such as Sunderland City Council in helping to resolve issues. There was also a discussion about tenancy management and how we support tenancies and people. The residents enjoyed hearing from a Neighbourhood Coordinator and Neighbourhood Operations Manager about their typical week and the challenges they have in their roles.
