We’re delighted to welcome Joanne Gordon to the Gentoo team, as she begins work as our new Development Director.
Joanne joins Gentoo from Newcastle based housing association, Home Group, where she previously held a strategic role overseeing development opportunities across the UK.
Joanne will be responsible for the delivery of our new £117 million affordable homes programme, which will see the organisation deliver 900 additional homes for rent in Sunderland via a mixture of new build and existing properties by 2024, utilising the £4 million surplus generated by Gentoo Homes to help subsidise the programme.
Speaking of her appointment as Gentoo’s new Development Director, Joanne said: “I’m really pleased to be joining Gentoo at what is such an exciting time. I’m grateful to have been given the task of delivering the Group’s new affordable homes plan and am really looking forward to making a difference to housing supply in Sunderland.”
Nigel Wilson, Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “Gentoo is committed to meeting the housing needs of local people and this is clearly evident by the recent launch of our ambitious affordable homes plan. I’m delighted to welcome Joanne to the team and look forward to working together to address the shortage of affordable rented homes in Sunderland.”
Joanne will now get to work on prioritising and delivering new affordable rent schemes in Sunderland, as well as raising the profile of the Group’s affordable homes ambitions with colleagues and partners across the house building industry.
