We must complete a gas safety check once a year for all homes with a gas meter or gas pipework. This helps keep you, your family and your neighbours safe.
If you can smell gas or think you have a gas leak in your home, call Northern Gas Networks on 0800 111 999 at once. They will visit your home within 2 hours.
When you report a gas leak, they may ask you to turn off your gas supply. This is a handle next to your gas meter that you turn so it is 90 degrees to the gas pipe.

You can view the gas safety record for your home within 28 days of a gas safety check. You can only view it online, using My Gas, because we no longer print paper copies.
