Things we do not give our permission to do
This is a list of changes we would never give permission to do to your home or garden
We never give our permission to do things that:
- may create health and safety problems
- do not follow our policies
- do not meet our standards
- may increase how much it would cost to maintain a property
- would reduce the value of a property
This includes, but is not limited to:
- installing solar panels
- installing electrical fires, gas fires and wood-burning stoves
- installing range cookers
- installing a gas boiler
- converting or boarding your loft and installing loft ladders because you must not store anything in your loft
- adding artificial grass, decking, hot tubs, ponds, pigeon lofts or chicken coops to garden areas
- converting outhouses and outbuildings
- installing a garage, carport or any other lean-to structures
- adding door or window shutters
- adding leading to windows
- painting or covering of window frames or window cills
- fitting pet flaps to doors
- removing internal walls or partitioning any room
- adding polystyrene coving or tiles or ceiling cladding
- artexing any surface
- painting kitchen units, tiles or bathroom suites
- covering kitchen units or benches with any vinyl covering
- removing handrails, balustrades and banisters
- removing a radiator (you can install a new radiator or move the radiator in the room)
- installing spotlights or downlights to any room
- installing a satellite dish in high-rise buildings
- laying laminate flooring in high-rise and upper-floor flats
