We have launched a major £47.7 million investment programme that will deliver improvement works to more than 2,800 homes across Sunderland.
The programme represents a significant commitment to improving the quality, safety and sustainability of homes.
The work which will be carried out by a number of our partners including: RE:GEN Group, Esh Construction, PHS, Bell Group and Isoler includes:
- External decoration
- Installation of new kitchens and bathrooms
- Electrical rewires
- Installation of new external communal doors
- Roof replacements and external improvements
This year’s investment programme will also see the start of the second year of Gentoo’s 10 year ‘Gentogether’ partnership which will see more than more than 900 homes improved in 2026/27.
Peter Akers, Director of Asset and Sustainability at Gentoo said: “This £47.7 million investment programme is a clear demonstration of our ongoing commitment to improving the quality of our homes and meeting the needs of our customers, both now and in the future.

If you are a Gentoo customer and your home is part of this year’s investment programme, you will receive a letter confirming your home is included and what work will be carried out.
