We have raised a significant sum of £17,755 for local mental health charity Sunderland Mind in 2025.
Gentoo colleagues chose Sunderland Mind as their corporate charity to support in 2025 and throughout the year have been fundraising for the local charity.
From organisation wide raffles, team competitions, tuck shops, donations for used laptops and their popular monthly payroll deduction scheme, colleagues have gone the extra mile over the last 12 months to show their support.
Susan Fulton, Executive Director of Customer, People and Engagement, said:
“Looking back over the past year, I’m incredibly proud of our colleagues for their generosity and teamwork in raising vital funds for Sunderland Mind.
“We hope it’s helped make a real difference in our city and we’re committed to continuing that support and work closely with the charity to help our communities thrive.”
Marsha Jardine, Family Wellbeing Support Worker at Sunderland Mind said:
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team at Gentoo for the ongoing support that they have given our organisation over the last year. It has enabled us to provide much needed services and events for the clients and service users we support from across the whole City of Sunderland.
“A special lunch and a small gift are an immense treat to them especially when times are hard so the support that we have received from Gentoo has spread so much happiness that it is immeasurable.
“The organisation has enabled us to bring a little bit of happiness, confidence and joy to over 400 individuals of all ages across the last year adding an extra dimension to our Wellbeing Support offer.
“Thank you just doesn’t seem enough the whole staff team here at Sunderland Mind would like to say a massive thank you for the support that Gentoo have given this organisation and the amazing difference that we have been able to make to the Service Users and clients.”
As we move into 2026, we are proud to announce that we are supporting St Benedict’s Hospice as our chosen corporate charity this year.
Susan added: “I am delighted colleagues voted St Benedict’s Hospice as our chosen charity for 2026. The charity does some incredible work in the city and we’re really looking forward to working closely with them to make a difference.”
