We have been awarded White Ribbon UK accreditation for our commitment to working towards ending violence against women and girls.
We have achieved the accreditation from White Ribbon UK – the country's leading charity that engages men and boys to end gender inequality and aggression against females by addressing its root causes and long-established attitudes in society.
We have already recruited colleagues from across the business to be champions and ambassadors and are currently developing a three year action plan to embed the accreditation into everything they do.
Susan Fulton, Executive Director of Customer, People & Engagement, said: "We are dedicated to advancing efforts to end violence against women and girls at Gentoo, and we are pleased to have obtained White Ribbon accreditation."
"At Gentoo, colleagues are provided with the necessary resources and knowledge, supported by relevant training, policies, procedures, and effective partnerships with external agencies, to appropriately identify, report, and respond to cases involving domestic abuse survivors and perpetrators. This accreditation enables us to further enhance our support for both customers and colleagues who may require assistance."
The White Ribbon UK Team, said: “White Ribbon Accredited Organisations can make a real difference towards ending violence against women by promoting a culture of respect and equality among their staff and wider communities. By raising awareness among employees, people can learn how to become allies and call out violent and abusive behaviour when they see it. We are delighted to welcome Gentoo as one of our White Ribbon Accredited Organisations and are looking forward to working with them towards ending violence against women once and for all”.
Earlier this year, we also gained the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation for the 4th time in a row - the UK benchmark for how housing providers should respond to domestic abuse.
