We have been officially accredited by Tpas, the national tenant engagement organisation, in recognition of our work in tenant involvement. The accreditation, which is valid for three years, highlights our commitment to placing customers at the heart of our services and decision-making processes.
Tpas is England’s leading expert in tenant engagement, promoting and championing tenant involvement and empowerment across the social housing sector. Their accreditation framework is rigorous and comprehensive, involving self-assessments, reality checks, surveys, interviews, and scrutiny panels.
The accreditation confirms that we are fully accountable to the needs of our customers. It validates our efforts to listen, act on feedback, and involve customers in decisions that shape the services they rely on.
Susan Fulton, Executive Director of Customer, People & Engagement, commented: "Achieving Tpas Accreditation is a proud moment for Gentoo. It validates the hard work of our colleagues and customers who have come together to co-create a culture of genuine involvement. This recognition isn’t just a badge, it’s a reflection of our values and a promise to keep listening, learning and improving."
The Tpas Accreditation process has supported us in embedding a strong culture of involvement throughout the organisation. We have driven business improvements and ensured that services are shaped by customer feedback. Colleague and customer volunteers have worked diligently to meet the required standards, and this achievement reflects their dedication and passion.
Jenny Osbourne MBE, Chief Executive of Tpas, added: “We’re delighted that Gentoo has successfully been accredited with Tpas. By completing the meticulous process to become an accredited housing organisation, Gentoo has demonstrated its continuing commitment to the values we share. Tpas believe that involving tenants in all aspects of service delivery in the housing sector is not only the right thing to do but also makes great business sense. We look forward to sharing the stories of how Gentoo has used the accreditation process to achieve success by working together with tenants.”
The accreditation will last three years and has provided us with valuable recommendations for improvement, while also highlighting areas of excellence. The opportunity to learn from other organisations during the process has been invaluable, and we remain committed to continuous improvement.
