We are delighted to announce a number of internal promotions within our Property Maintenance Team. The promotions reinforces our commitment to recognising talent and investing in the development of our colleagues.

Several of the promoted colleagues began their careers with Gentoo in trade roles, and their progression reflects the strength of the Group’s culture and the opportunities available for those who want to grow and develop. By developing talent from within, Gentoo ensures that its teams continue to deliver an exceptional service to its customers and communities.

They have each shown outstanding performance and a passion for making a difference. Their achievements are a testament to the strength of Gentoo’s culture, where hard work and innovation are rewarded.

Speaking of the promotion, Yvette Ramshaw who was recently promoted to an Assistant Repairs and Maintenance Manager said: “I chose a career in Property Maintenance because I genuinely care about our customers and love making a positive difference in their lives.

“Throughout my time at Gentoo, I've been fortunate to have incredible mentors who have supported and guided me through various challenges. Their advice and encouragement have been instrumental in shaping my career, and I owe much of my progress to them.

“During my 14 years at Gentoo, I've taken on many roles that have really helped me grow professionally. I'm grateful for all the chances I've had to learn new skills and be part of important projects.

“My current role as Assistant R&M Manager seemed out of reach at first since I didn't have a trade background, but with the support and guidance from my colleagues, I've gained the confidence to excel. I'm thankful to them and committed to showing my value within the team.

Keith Barrass who was recently promoted from a Gas Engineer to an Assistant Maintenance Manager said: “I chose to pursue progression within the organisation after working as a Gas Engineer for just over 6 years.  I believe the experience I have gained whilst at Gentoo and in my previous employment is a great benefit within my current management role.

“On a personal level, the promotion has given me a great sense of pride and achievement, after learning from previous setbacks and never giving up hope.

“Professionally, it has allowed me to gain an insight into how the Property Maintenance side of Gentoo operates and enabled me to demonstrate my leadership skills.”

David Metcalf, Assistant Director of Property Safety said: “At Gentoo, we’re committed to providing the best possible service to our customers to ensure they are happy and living in warm, safe, and decent homes.

“Recently, we’ve seen several examples of team members stepping up, taking on challenges, and earning well deserved promotions. These success stories aren’t just about individual achievement, they create a ripple effect across the teams. They show that perseverance, learning, and going the extra mile can lead to real career growth.”
