We’re hitting the road with a new mobile housing hub to bring services direct to customers

We have launched a brand-new mobile housing hub designed to bring services directly to customers and neighbourhoods across Sunderland.

The mobile hub which began its rounds today (Monday 16 June), will serve as a travelling hub for all of our services, offering face-to-face advice and support on rent queries, repairs, digital access, financial wellbeing, and more. The initiative aims to make it easier for customers to access help without needing to travel.

Chris Roberts, Director of Customer at Gentoo said: “Customers told us they wanted more accessible, face-to-face support, and we’ve acted on that. By strengthening our presence in our communities, we will build stronger relationships and be more visible, accessible, and responsive.

“We’re excited to get out on the road and make a difference where it matters most.”

The mobile hub is part of our wider commitment to improving customer experience and strengthening community relationships. 93% of customers asked said the mobile hub was a good idea with 84% saying they would use it if they needed support from us.

Customers also played a key role in shaping the design and appearance, helping to ensure it is welcoming, clearly branded, and easy to identify as a place to go for help.

Throughout the summer, we will visit neighbourhoods and community hotspots across Sunderland. Weekly schedules will be shared on our website, Facebook page, and via text message to customers in the areas being visited.
