Christmas opening hours

Here’s everything you need to know about our services over the festive period.

Office closures 

Our local offices will close at 12:30pm on Wednesday 24 December. They will reopen on Monday 5 January at 8:30am for calls and at 9am for in person visits and appointments.  

Reporting a repair  

From 12:30pm on Wednesday 24 December until 8am on Monday 29 December and again from 12:30pm on Wednesday 31 December until 8am on Monday 5 January we will handle emergency repairs only. 

Non-emergency repairs can be reported between 8am on Monday 29 December and 12:30pm on Wednesday 31 December and appointments will be made for in the New Year. 

Emergency repairs include:  

  • lost or stolen keys and there is nobody else with keys you can use, and you have a crime number from the police 
  • no heating or hot water  
  • gas leaks and gas emissions from appliance  
  • water leaks you cannot contain  
  • a blocked toilet and there is only one toilet in your home  
  • blocked waste pipes and drains  
  • an exit door or ground floor window is jammed open or you cannot lock it  
  • external communal doors are not opening or closing  
  • full sounding fire alarms or carbon monoxide detectors  
  • electrical faults, these include:   
    • exposed or unsafe electric cables  
    • medical equipment like stair lifts losing power  
    • water in or on your electrics  
    • total loss of power in your home that is not because of power cuts in the area or running out of credit on your prepayment meter

Paying your rent  

You can pay your rent online or by calling 0191 525 5000 and selecting option 1. You can do this 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also use your rent payment card and pay in cash at any Post Office, PayPoint, or where you see the allpay logo.  

Available properties 

Properties will be advertised on our allocations system for two weeks, from 2:00pm on 24 December until midday on 7 January 2026.
