200 Christmas Dinners delivered to customers in need

We are bringing the comfort of a home-cooked Christmas dinner to 200 customers who might otherwise spend the day alone. Each dinner includes turkey with all the trimmings and a dessert, prepared by Sunderland City Council, and will be delivered by our colleagues on Christmas Eve.

This year’s effort has been made possible thanks to the generous support of DTA Consulting Engineers LLP and Sunderland City Council, whose contribution ensures customers receive a warm, festive meal just in time for the big day.

“I’m incredibly proud of what our colleagues do for customers all year round, offering care, practical support and a friendly face in our neighbourhoods,” said Chris Roberts, Director of Customer. “At Christmas in particular, their kindness and extra effort, hand‑delivering a hot meal and taking a moment to check in means the world to people who might otherwise spend the day alone. A heartfelt thank you to DTA Consulting and Sunderland City Council for helping us make this possible.”

Philip Halse, Partner at DTA Consulting Engineers said: “DTA are proud to be supporting Gentoo in providing Christmas meals to 200 Gentoo customers this Christmas as part of our commitment to Social Value and supporting our local communities.”

The Christmas dinner deliveries are part of Gentoo’s annual ‘Your Gentoo Christmas’ campaign, which also includes donated gifts, pantomime tickets and a free fun day to bring joy to families across the city.
