Who can apply

We welcome applications from groups and organisations working in areas where there are Gentoo homes. This includes:

  • Community and voluntary groups
  • Local charities
  • Social enterprises
  • Community Interest Companies (CICs)
  • Residents’ and tenants’ associations

What the grant can be used for

Funding can be used to support projects that benefit local communities, including:

  • Community projects - Events or activities that bring people together, including support for new or existing community groups.
  • Youth projects - Projects and activities designed and delivered by young people, for young people.
  • Inclusion projects - Initiatives that address digital, social or financial inclusion, helping people to access services, information and opportunities.
  • Environmental projects - Improvements to the area around your home or neighbourhood, helping to create cleaner, greener and safer places.
  • Health and wellbeing - Projects that support physical or mental health and wellbeing within the community.

What we won’t fund

We are unable to provide funding for:

  • Profit‑making organisations or businesses
  • Individuals
  • Projects that promote political or religious advancement
  • Activities that are the responsibility of a statutory organisation
  • Travel and accommodation costs
  • Sponsorship or fundraising activities
  • Building maintenance or repairs
  • Wages or salaries for staff employed by your group or organisation
