We want to help you settle in to your home as soon as possible. We work with Newcastle Furniture Service (NFS) so you can rent furniture for your home.
NFS own the furniture and you rent it from them. They will repair your furniture for free. They will arrange with you to replace, reuse and recycle all items after 4 years for free.
If you want to return any furniture, you will need to provide 4 weeks’ notice that you want to end your contract and they will collect your furniture from you.
If you move to a different Gentoo property and want to take the furniture with you, tell contact NFS and they will arrange this for you.

Each item of furniture has a points value. You can discuss the furniture you need with your Neighbourhood Co-ordinator and they will tell how much it will cost. The average cost is between £10 and £40 a week.
If you get Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, you may be able to use them to pay for some or all the costs. If you work or get other benefits, you may have to use your income to pay some or all the costs.
The service is available to all our tenants.
If you are a new tenant, you can tell us you want to rent furniture as early as you need to, including when you are a viewing a property. But both new and current tenants can apply whenever they want to.
