We have strengthened our executive team by welcoming Stephen Flounders in the newly created role of Executive Director Regulatory and Business Services.
Stephen will be responsible for regulatory matters, compliance, health and safety of colleagues and customers, risk and assurance, internal audit, strategy, portfolio management and technology in his new role.
He joined the Group in 2019, as Head of Health and Safety and soon progressed in the organisation to become Director of Risk & Assurance before taking up his new role earlier this month.
Previous to his time at Gentoo, Stephen has over 15 years of experience as a Health and Safety professional, including working for KPMG and EY.
Speaking about his new role, Stephen said: “I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into my new role and as part of that I want to make sure our customers and colleagues forefront of our decision making.
“Since joining the Group in 2019, I have worked with some hard-working colleagues who have developed within Gentoo and I want to continue to encourage this throughout the organisation so we can get the best out of our people and develop our talent.”
As part of his new role, Stephen will support colleagues in delivering the new digital transformation project, Genforce, that will improve the service the Group provide to their customers.
The introduction of the new system is part of Gentoo’s wider two-year Corporate Strategy which has been refreshed this year and which Stephen led on.
He added: “It’s a really exciting time at Gentoo with a lot of positive change and I want to make sure we deliver our corporate strategy over the next two years to put us in a really good position to ultimately deliver for our customers and colleagues.”
Louise Bassett, Chief Executive Officer at Gentoo, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Stephen to our Executive Team. Since Stephen joined the Group, he has led by example, brought rigour and professionalism to all areas within his responsibility and has been instrumental in improving the Group’s Governance position.”
“I am excited to see him develop in his new role and continue to deliver for our customers and colleagues.”
