Gentoo extends £7 million contract with Jewson Partnership Solutions

We're delighted to announce we are extending our contract with building materials supplier Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS) for an additional two years.

We have awarded the £7m contract extension to Jewson Partnership Solutions, three years after the initial contract was awarded.

JPS has supported Gentoo to reduce its carbon footprint and improve efficiency thanks to a van based stock station. Stock items are identified through real time usage data which is sent to JPS on a daily basis. Stock boxes are then collected from a centralised location, reducing the need for operatives to visit the stores. Due to its success, the process is now being used as a blueprint by JPS that is being rolled out to other partners.

The number of jobs that have been completed right first time has steadily increased throughout the initial three-year contract. With almost 30,000 homes, Gentoo carry out more than 160,000 repair visits every year. Last year, almost 90% of its repairs were successfully carried out right first time.

James Haste, Director of Property Maintenance at Gentoo Group said:

“We are delighted to be able to extend the contract with JPS for an additional two years. Since the start of the contract in 2019, the relationship between Gentoo and JPS has gone from strength to strength and the extension of the contract is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of colleagues to date.

“It has been really beneficial to meet with Scott and the team to discuss new technologies and innovations that can further enhance the service Gentoo receives from JPS. I am really excited by this and am looking forward to seeing the contract improve the experience that Gentoo tenants receive as part of our repairs and maintenance service.”

Scott Cooper, Business Director at Jewson JPS said:

“Gentoo has been a highly valued customer of JPS for 3 years and we are delighted that it has decided to extend this contract for a further 2 years. From our dedicated managed stores we have been able to work together on implementing new processes that have not only improved the speed of service Gentoo operatives receive, but in turn has delivered a better service to their tenants by dramatically improving first time fix rates. Over the next 2 years we look forward to being able to enhance the service offering even further.

“Ensuring we have a positive impact in the Sunderland community is really important to both Gentoo and JPS which is why we are also committed to ensuring we also give back to the local community throughout the lifetime of our partnership. We are grateful that the JPS ethos of creating long lasting relationships that deliver, is shared by Gentoo and we look forward to continuing to improve our service over the next 2 years.”
