We want all our tenants to feel at home in our properties. In partnership with Newcastle Furniture Service (NFS), we can provide new and existing tenants with a furnished tenancy package to allow you to live comfortably with new furniture and appliances at an affordable weekly cost.
The service is available to all Gentoo tenants (new and existing).
You can pick whatever you need from our range of products.
Each product has a points value, when you’ve picked your products your Neighbourhood Coordinator will add up the points to see which band your package fits into. This will decide how much you pay each week for your products.
Band one: up to 60 points
Band two: up to 85 points
Band three: up to 110 points
New tenants should mention that they wish to apply at an early stage, either during the viewing process or sign up stage.
Any current tenants interested in applying for a furniture package should contact their Neighbourhood Coordinator. You can find their details here.
If you are in receipt of benefits, the furniture may be covered by the Housing Element of Universal Credit or Housing Benefit.
If you are not in receipt of benefits, you will need to self-fund the weekly charge in addition to your rent.
NFS will carry out repairs to the furniture or replace the products at no additional cost to you when necessary. If you want to return the furniture, NFS will also arrange to collect it.
No, the products are rented.
Yes, after four years all items including cookers, fridges, freezers will be replaced if you are happy for us to do so, at no extra cost.
NFS will arrange this directly at a time and date suitable to you, old products will be removed, and the new products will be installed
