Ways to pay

You can pay your rent by:

Setting up a Direct Debit

This may be the best way to pay your rent, especially if your rent doesn’t change throughout the year. You will only need to fill in one form and if your rent changes, we will send you a letter 10 days before this happens with the details of the change.

Direct debits can help you to budget and ensure that your rent is paid on time. It is an easy way to pay your rent and as payments are automatic you wont have to worry about falling behind with payments. You will need to ensure you have enough money in your bank to cover your direct debit, or you may be charged.
If you would like to pay by direct debit print off a form, fill it in and drop off at your  local office. Alternatively, you can pick up a form from your local office and our staff will be happy to help if you have any questions.

Setting up a Standing Order

To pay by standing order you will need to contact your Art of Living Coordinator or call into your local office. We will then help you organise a mandate to hand in at your bank or building society. Your bank will then set this up and send your payment to us on the date you have chosen. If your rent changes a new mandate will be sent to you to take to the bank to amend your weekly payment amount.

Using an Allpay card at any Gentoo office, PayPoint outlet or Post Office

This may be the best way for you to pay if your rent will probably change throughout the year (for example, if you receive Housing Benefit). You can pay your rent at any Post Office or PayPoint wherever you see these signs:

Paypoint And Post

You can use your payment card in any of our offices. To make a payment, you need to show your payment card when you pay by cash, debit or credit card. You will get a receipt, which you will need to keep as a record or your payment.

If you make a payment in this way over the weekend, the payment will be shown on your rent account by 12 noon the following Monday.

Pay online via your Allpay account

You will need to have your payment card, debit or credit card ready. You will need to enter your 19 digit Allpay reference number to log in. You will then need to enter how much you want to pay and your debit or credit card details. You will then get an authorisation number which will confirm your payment and a receipt by email.

By phone using a credit or debit card

If you would rather speak to someone you can pay your rent over the phone. You will need your payment card, debit or credit card ready when you phone and you will have to tell us how much you want to pay.

If you want to do this, you should contact our Customer Service Centre on 0191 525 5000 or call Allpay on their 24 hour automated payment line on 0844 557 8321*

*This will be charged as a national rate number. You will be charged for this call subject to your phone contract. Please contact your provider for further details.
