We're seeking resident’s views on our proposals to build affordable homes across three sites in Sunderland.
64 homes are proposed for Old Mill Road in Carley Hill where homes would be available for affordable rent as well as Shared Ownership and Rent to Buy.
In Farringdon, the scheme could see 32 three and four-bedroom family homes built on the land between Aberdare Road and Allendale Road and proposals for Grindon could see 17 three- and four-bedroom homes created on Gartland Road.
If approved, the sites would also provide a boost to the local economy through job creation in construction and the wider supply chain of the developments.
Joanne Gordon, Development Director at Gentoo Group, said: “We’re delighted to share our exciting proposals to create new affordable homes across Sunderland.
“Building the right homes in the right places is crucial to our ambitions to delivering the high-quality, affordable homes the residents of the city need.
“As a responsible business we value the views and opinions of local residents and would like to hear from them before we submit planning applications for the sites. I’d like to encourage residents to use this opportunity to have their say and provide their feedback on these proposals.”
Residents living within close proximity of the proposed developments will receive a leaflet through their door which can be used to provide feedback. Feedback can also be provided by completing an online questionnaire via our Your Gentoo Voice engagement portal.
The public consultation is now underway and runs until 10pm on Monday 3 January 2022.
