About the role of Community Safety Officer
We have an exciting temporary opportunity to join Gentoo’s local neighbourhood team in the role of Community Safety Officer. In this key role you will deliver a quality service which efficiently and effectively manages anti-social behaviour and tenancy breach services from initial receipt of report through to resolution. You will be responsible for supporting the housing teams in establishing and maintaining a high profile in our local neighbourhood whilst providing a proactive service which includes investigative, enforcement and preventative/support activities. You will take a holistic approach to case management, addressing all issues necessary to resolve situations, engaging with internal stakeholders and external partner agencies to ensure successful outcomes. You will also provide intensive support to new and existing tenants, including those wishing to leave their home due to crime or anti-social behaviour, providing support mechanisms or incentives to encourage them to remain. Other responsibilities include assessing the suitability of potential tenants and tackling incidents of unacceptable behaviour where appropriate including vandalism and damage to Gentoo property. About the role of Electrician
Electrician (salary £32,960) We have a new and exciting opportunity to join the Property Maintenance team in the role of Electrician working within the Electrical Team. Gentoo are a Social Landlord with just under 29,000 houses and this role will require you to undertake all areas of electrical work to ensure that the domestic and commercial electrical infrastructure within these premises is maintained to a satisfactory standard. The role will require you to carry out a variation of electrical day to day repairs, testing, maintenance and installation work to domestic and non-domestic properties as required by the Gentoo Group. Within these works you will be required to undertake tasks such as: domestic and commercial electrical installation condition reporting, complete minor elements of multi-skilling associated with the electrical work e.g. small filling/patching to decor, undertake minor plumbing work associated with the electrical work e.g. shower replacements, be competent in the use of handheld IT systems (Hand Held Units) complete all necessary electronic certification as required by the Group in line with relevant British Standards and Regulatory bodies applicable to the work carried out, liaise with Line Managers regarding the status of any and all work, liaise and interface with other trades as required. The Group operate an Emergency Out of Hours Service, which you may be required to work on a rota basis as and when required. Within the role you you will be required to work with minimum supervision both independently and as part of a wider team.
About the role of Facilities Assistant
The Facilities Assistant reports to the Facilities Contracts Manager and is responsible for providing support to ensure facilities services are provided in an effective and efficient manner, as well as being the initial point of contact for the Facilities department. You will also complete various postal duties.

In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the Group is compliant in Gas servicing and day-to-day repairs . All Jobs you undertake will have a 'Right first time' attitude and you will be expected to deliver recognised industry standards for compliance, quality and productivity. We are committed to providing our tenants with the highest quality of service and we believe that the key to achieving this is to recruit enthusiastic talented people with the right skills, knowledge, attitude and behaviour. You will have access to a company vehicle and the relevant tools and equipment required to carry out your role. We operate an annualised hours working pattern; winter months are November to April working an average of 39 hours a week and summer months are May to October working an average of 33 hours per week (average of 36 hours per week over the year). There will be an expectation to work on an emergency out of hours rota basis, payments of which will be in addition to your salary.

This will include working collaboratively across the department providing technical advice on fabric improvements and validation of survey data. This key role will assist in the preparation and delivery of energy efficiency improvement works or one-off projects assisting with the production and completion of all relevant details and documents to ensure works are planned/delivered to the relevant quality standards. If successful, you will join an initial 24-month graduate programme, with the possibility of a permanent role becoming available upon successful completion of the programme.

We have permanent full time and part time opportunities available.
