An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Gentoo's Repairs and Maintenace Section. 

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering a first class customer service and support customer driven change. 

We are looking for a full time Customer Service Assistant to join the Support Services Team. Here you will be commited to helping customers with their repair enquiry calls. You will also be expected to provide a prompt and efficient administartion service including the accurate input of computer records. 

You will be working in a fast paced and demanding environment so it is important that the applicant is organised, have excellent communication skills and have the ability to plan workload and meet deadlines. 

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate ownership and responsibility of customer issues.

You will be responsible for the installation of new domestic heating systems along with the provision of all planned and reactive general plumbing maintenance demands in both occupied and void properties across all areas of the city.

You will have experience in Heating/Plumbing and Repairs/installations in a domestic environment, along with competency in other secondary trades, however solely Plumbing experience will still be considered. You will have excellent customer service skills and an effective communication style with a confident approach that gives you the ability to influence others, build and maintain relationships and play a vital part in a team to deliver this service and find solutions to problems.

The post requires you to hold a current full UK driving licence and be able to meet the travel requirements of the post. The post requires a basic DBS check.

About the Role

The trainee accountant position will involve working within a variety of roles and projects within the department. Whilst providing an excellent service to our stakeholders you will also be developing skills and knowledge that will help you progress in the role and enhance the service being provided.

You will also study towards a professional accountancy qualification, taking responsibility for your personal development.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with existing experience working within an accountancy environment, ideally in a large complex organisation. You will be AAT qualified or working towards the final stage or equivalent, and be looking to progress into a professional accountancy qualification.

With experience of using computerised accounting/ledger systems and dealing with internal and external customers, the successful candidate will be able to evaluate and analyse complex data, and will need to possess excellent IT skills. Responsible for the operational management of customer involvement and community engagement activities across Gentoo, the Community Engagement Manager will help shape the overall approach at Gentoo to involvement and community engagement. We are looking for someone with people and partnership skills.

The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of staff to deliver effective involvement and community engagement activities across the Group. They will be responsible for operational budgets, business plan targets and relevant regulatory compliance. 

The successful candidate will be required to develop and maintain effective relationships with all relevant partners and local stakeholders which include our customers, corporate partners and third sector organisations. 

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work on their own initiative and work as a team, have good organisational skills and effective communication and negotiation skills.

We are looking for a Neighbourhood Support Officer to provide a knowledgeable and professional service to our customers. Although the current vacancy is based at our very busy city centre Athenaeum Office you may be required to work at any office within the city. You will provide admin support to the Neighbourhood Coordinators and answer telephone queries. In addition interviewing customers will be one of your main responsibilities. A vacancy for a Projects Assistant has arisen within the Customer and Community Team, specifically working within the Safety and Support Hub. 

As a Projects Assistant you will play a pivotal role in supporting the safety and support agenda, providing an efficient and effective project management and administrative service within Gentoo Operations. 

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Support the teams in managing and maintaining existing and new services and projects
  • Create and update documents using relevant computer packages, including the relevant databases
  • Deal with all customer based enquiries whether in person, telephone, email in an efficient, courteous, and customer focused way
  • Provide general project management and administrative support to the teams within Customer & Community
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings with the Support Manager, customers and other staff members
  • Arrange meetings and appointments and organise venue & hospitality
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with referral agencies, partners and stakeholders on a day-to-day basis including other Support Providers, Social Landlords, Adult Services, Home Improvement Agency
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the local neighbourhood management teams
