Meet The Team
Steve has over 20 years experience in maintenance and minor works, including 10 years experience supervisory/management over the breath of the construction sector.
Steve is involved in developing business growth and identifying opportunities to deliver a personal and bespoke service to clients across a range of disciplines, by effectively managing budgets and performance within the team.
Steve frequently liaises with internal and external clients to provide the highest level of customer service and that a ‘right first time policy’ is continuously achieved, maintained and delivered across all contracts.
Having graduated in 2004 from Northumbria University with a degree in Building Surveying, Stephen has spent 10 years working in the commercial construction sector. While predominantly dealing with refurbishments and extensions to education premises and large scale retail projects to a national blue chip client, Stephen has also worked in a variety of other sectors including healthcare and airport environments.
Having worked as both a Building Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor, Stephen has honed his skills to be adaptable to a variety of challenging projects by considering a holistic approach to the construction, design and management of a scheme. Stephen believes that development of the right team and strong communications will ensure the best outcome for the client.
Richard has over 30 years experience working in the electrical industry, starting his career as an Electrician before progressing to an Electrical Engineer. During this time, Richard has gained a vast understanding of the building services sector, working predominantly in education and commercial built environments.
Having gained both management and trade experience during his career, he is able to apply this knowledge to a vast range of electrical installations. Richards positive attitude and can do approach to work are seen as his key contributions to a successful project delivery.
Fred has worked in the Repairs and Maintenance world for 26 years, starting as apprentice in the Local Authority and progressing his career as a qualified Gas Safe Plumber. For the last 5 years, Fred has been in a supervisory position dealing with performance management and repairs and maintenance quality control, including the performance of outside contractors.
His position is now in Facilities Management at Gentoo where he deals with internal and external clients including schools and Local Authority projects. Fred’s attention to detail and ensuring health and safety compliance is the paramount concern on all schemes gives every client and contractor piece of mind that the work has been carried out beyond satisfaction.
Having worked in a customer facing role throughout his career, Neil joined Gentoo in 2004 in the Concierge Team where he gained further experience in people management skills. From here, Neil joined the Facilities Management Team in 2010 as a non-stock specialist buyer working in tandem with existing stores procurement routes. Since his appointment, Neil has utilised Gentoo’s buying power with local suppliers and negotiated many bulk procurement savings which have been passed on to our clients.
Neil sees his primary role in the team as providing procurement support to the projects delivery by ensuring best value for all our clients.
Cath has over 25 years of experience in providing a good customer focussed service and administrative duties for several blue chip companies. During her career she has developed a thorough understanding of providing client and colleague support through team work.
Since joining Gentoo 14 years ago, Cath worked in the Repairs and Maintenance Department for 9 years as a Scheduler and for the last 5 years in the Administration Team with Facilities Management. This has given her an excellent understanding of client and customer concerns and a broad skill set which is flexible to the clients needs.
Liz has over 30 years’ experience in customer service delivery, having worked in various areas of the construction sector as a Commercial Manager. This role included overseeing customer requirements and complaints. Key to her success in this role is her ability to remain unbiased to a situation in order to negotiate an amicable outcome for all parties
Liz joined the Facilities Management Team in July 2013 as part of the Administration Team and utilises her skills to help deliver the task in hand.
Kate has recently joined the team just over 2 years ago to provide customer support assistance. During this time she has developed her repairs and maintenance knowledge through her natural curiosity for the work involved, which is reflected in the service she provides to the team and the clients.
This role has now developed and grown into scheduling works for various trades and co-ordinating several services for clients. Kate is empathetic and flexible to each situation and excels in providing a high level of service.
