Queen honours Sally Hancox

Gentoo is celebrating after Sally Hancox, the Group’s Director of Gentoo Green has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.  Sally was awarded the title for services to reducing carbon emissions and fuel poverty in social housing.

 

During her time at Gentoo, Sally has lead a 14 strong team dedicated to ensuring the Group remains at the forefront of the sustainability agenda and constantly develops the business to ensure it makes the most of green thinking and technology. 

 

Sally is overjoyed with this prestigious recognition, she remarked:  “It is hard to believe I have been nominated for just doing a job I love.  I still can’t believe it, I am amazed and humbled to receive this great award.

 

“Six people in the field of housing were recognised this year.  I hope this will help put some real focus and attention on this vitally important agenda.”

 

Peter Walls, Chief Executive at Gentoo Group said: "We are absolutely delighted that this honour has been given to Sally.  Her passion for the environment is inspiring and the changes she has been able to make for people in a relatively short space of time are quite remarkable.
