Glasgow Housing Association get streetwise with Gentoo
Gentoo has recently exchanged contracts with Glasgow Housing Association (GHA). Streetwise, developed by Gentoo is a fully functioning web-based application that allows users to monitor and track anti social behaviour (ASB) and other tenancy breaches effectively.

GHA is one of the largest social landlords in the UK, with responsibility for more than 50,000 social housing properties and 26,500 homeowners across Glasgow. Tackling ASB is a major priority for GHA and Streetwise will enable users to effectively manage their caseload and assist them in identifying appropriate solutions.

GHA’s Executive Director of Housing and Customer Services Mick McCabe said: “We want all our tenants and factored homeowners to feel safe in their homes and their communities. That’s why tackling ASB is a priority for us.

“We already have a number of initiatives in place to tackle ASB including dedicated Neighbour Relations officers who work closely with the police and housing officers to resolve issues.

“Gentoo’s Streetwise software will add to what we already do by helping us to manage cases of ASB more efficiently. It will give our staff detailed information at the touch of a button on the history of every case and allow us to see much more clearly where any problem areas are emerging.

“This will enable us to make faster, more informed decisions about where we target our resources to curb ASB and make communities safer.”

Commercially available, Streetwise has been designed and developed by a specialist in-house team who have the front-line experience and expertise to ensure it meets the needs of both customers and the business. Key features of this cost effective system include the ability to record and upload detailed information, full audit trails and direct links into GIS mapping and other reporting software.

Ian Porter, Managing Director, Gentoo Sunderland said: “We are committed to ensuring communities are safe places to live and tackling ASB and supporting victims is high on our agenda. Streetwise provides a controlled and monitored way to record actions and measures taken to tackle ASB and support victims. Our front-line experience, specialist ICT knowledge and practitioner-led approach allows us to tailor solutions to suit organisations of all sizes. Competitively priced with a number of interested parties, we look forward to expanding on our portfolio of Streetwise customers with the aim of supporting them in their efforts to tackle ASB across the UK.”
